The Enterasys 7C203-1 is an 863 watt AC power supply for the Matrix N3 chassis, drawing 12 amps at 100 to 125 volts or 6 amps at 200 to 240 volts, at 50 or 60Hz.

The N3 chassis takes up to two of these in its lower bays, so a second unit provides supply redundancy rather than extra capacity in most configurations. Supplies are hot swappable in this chassis, meaning a failed unit is replaced without dropping the switch, and that is precisely why a spare on the shelf is worth having in a distribution or core position. Check the load your fitted modules draw before assuming one supply is enough.

The Matrix N-Series came out of Cabletron Systems, was sold under the Enterasys Networks name from 2001, and passed to Extreme Networks in 2013.
