Enterasys RBT-1602: RoamAbout AP1602 wireless access point supporting 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g.

The Enterasys RBT-1602 is the RoamAbout AP1602 wireless access point, a dual band unit covering 802.11a in the 5GHz band alongside 802.11b and 802.11g at 2.4GHz, with a top rate of 54Mbps and two Ethernet ports.

It carries integrated diversity omnidirectional antennas rated at 3dBi and accepts external sectorised or directional antennas where coverage has to be shaped around a building. The AP1602 works either standalone or as a thin access point under a RoamAbout Wireless Switch of the 8×00 series, which is how larger sites managed radio settings and roaming centrally.

Enterasys Networks was the enterprise arm of Cabletron Systems, renamed in 2001, and the company was itself acquired by Extreme Networks in 2013.
