Enterasys 7C103: Matrix N3 three-slot chassis with fan tray, power supplies ordered separately.

The Enterasys 7C103 is the Matrix N3 chassis, a three slot enclosure supplied with its fan assembly and without power supplies, which are ordered separately as the 7C203-1.

Modules and the fan tray are hot swappable, and the chassis mounts in a standard 19 inch rack or stands free. Three slots is the small end of the Matrix N-Series, intended for a wiring closet or distribution point needing the same Distributed Forwarding Engine modules as a larger N5 or N7 without the port density. Because modules are common across the family, an N3 can be populated from spares held for a bigger chassis. Two supplies fit in the lower bays for redundancy.

Cabletron Systems developed this platform, Enterasys Networks carried it from 2001, and Extreme Networks acquired the business in 2013.
