The Enterasys EPA-201D-05 is an external 5V DC power adapter rated at 4 amps, supplied as a mains power unit for Enterasys equipment that takes its power externally rather than from an internal supply. Small standalone units, media converters and compact access devices are built this way to keep the housing small and fanless, which makes the adapter a separate item and the usual point of failure: a unit showing no power or link indication at all has generally lost its adapter rather than the device.
