Enterasys 6SSRLC-TX-AA: 8-port 10/100BASE-TX SmartSwitch Router line card.

The Enterasys 6SSRLC-TX-AA is an eight port 10/100BASE-TX line card from the 6SSRLC family, the SmartSwitch Router modules that work with the 5SSRM-02 and 6SSRM-02 routing modules in a Matrix chassis.

It puts eight copper Fast Ethernet ports under the routing engine, giving a chassis switch a block of Layer 3 edge ports without a separate router. Its siblings cover the fibre options: the 6SSRLC-FX-AA carries eight 100BASE-FX ports and the 6SSRLC-LX-AA two gigabit 1000BASE-LX ports, with a 70km long reach variant beyond that. Line cards in this range are keyed to the routing module generation, so confirm which SSRM your chassis holds before ordering.

The SmartSwitch Router originated at Cabletron Systems, was renamed X-Pedition under Enterasys Networks in 2001, and the company was acquired by Extreme Networks in 2013.
