The Enterasys 1G-2TX is a 2-port 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet uplink option module for the Matrix E1 Workgroup Switch (WS) and Gigabit Workgroup Switch (GWS) families. It fits into the expansion slot of a base switch to add two fixed copper Gigabit uplink ports over standard RJ-45 cabling.

Unlike the GBIC-based 1G-2GBIC alternative, the 1G-2TX provides fixed 1000Base-T copper connections, making it a straightforward, low-cost way to give a Matrix E1 switch a Gigabit-speed link to a backbone switch or server without needing separate transceivers.
