The Cabletron M5PSM is the power supply module for the MMAC-M5FNB chassis, the five slot member of the MMAC modular hub family. The MMAC chassis carries no integral supply, so this module occupies its own bay and feeds the backplane the media interface modules draw from; a chassis without one is inert regardless of how many cards are fitted.

Larger chassis in the family take more than one supply, for redundancy and for the extra load a fully populated shelf presents, but the five slot unit is normally run from a single module. Supplies are matched to the chassis generation and are not interchangeable with the later MMAC-Plus. Ownership ran from Cabletron Systems to Enterasys in 2001 and then to Extreme Networks, which bought Enterasys in 2013. Tech-Star supplies from UK stock with worldwide despatch.
