The Enterasys MGBIC-LC03 is a gigabit mini-GBIC transceiver operating at 1310nm with an LC connector, specified for multimode fibre at distances up to 2km.

That combination is worth understanding. 1310nm is a long wavelength normally associated with single mode fibre, and running it over multimode reaches considerably further than the 850nm shortwave modules most multimode plant was built for, though it usually calls for a mode conditioning patch lead at each end to avoid differential mode delay. The module suits a building where the installed fibre is multimode but the run is too long for 1000BASE-SX. Its single mode counterpart in the same range is the MGBIC-LC09.
