Amino

Amino is a Cambridge company that has built IP television hardware since the early days of the technology, supplying the set-top boxes and media players that turn a broadband connection into a television service. Its devices are used by telecoms operators delivering pay television over their own networks, and in enterprise, hospitality and digital signage installations where video has to reach a lot of screens over existing data cabling. The group traded as Aferian for several years, and the Amino business changed hands again in 2026. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Amino hardware including set-top box power supplies and IPTV receiver units. Refurbished Amino hardware remains in demand because operator deployments are standardised on one box across thousands of homes or rooms, so replacements have to match what is already installed.
