Lantronix

Lantronix, of Irvine, California, builds the hardware that puts serial equipment onto an IP network, which is the problem device servers and console servers exist to solve. Its products give remote access to the console ports of switches, routers, power gear and industrial machinery, so equipment offering no other management path can still be reached when it stops responding. The company expanded considerably in August 2021 when it completed the purchase of Transition Networks and Net2Edge from Communications Systems, adding media conversion and Power over Ethernet switching to its own connectivity range. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Lantronix hardware including device and console server units. Refurbished Lantronix hardware remains in demand because out-of-band access is usually wired once and left alone, so a matching replacement avoids reworking the whole access path.
