Fiberxon

Fiberxon was a Chinese optical transceiver manufacturer supplying modules for metro, access and passive optical network applications, and one of the larger independent transceiver makers of its era. MRV Communications acquired Fiberxon in 2007 and combined it with its own Luminent optical components business, the two later being unified under the Source Photonics name. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Fiberxon hardware including FTM-series bi-directional SFP transceivers, the single-fibre modules used where a link runs over one strand rather than a pair. Refurbished Fiberxon optics remain in demand because bi-directional modules work only in matched pairs of complementary wavelengths, so replacing one half of a working link is a routine requirement rather than an unusual one.
