Shiva

Shiva Corporation, of Burlington, Massachusetts, built remote access equipment through the 1990s and is best known for the LanRover range, which let dial-in users reach a corporate network in the years before broadband made that ordinary. Shiva acquired the Edinburgh company Spider Systems in 1995, pairing its own analogue asynchronous expertise with Spider’s synchronous ISDN work, and the combined European operation traded as Shiva Europe until Intel acquired Shiva in 1998.
