Tellabs is an American network technology company founded in 1975 and based in Illinois, supplying optical transport, access and managed access systems to carriers and government networks. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Tellabs hardware, principally plug-in units for the DXX managed access cross-connect platform, including CXU control units, VF and signalling interface units and FRU line cards. Refurbished Tellabs units remain in demand because DXX networks carry long-lived leased-line and utility traffic where the platform is maintained rather than replaced, and a spare has to match the unit version marked on the card.
