Force Computers

Force Computers was an embedded computing company founded in 1981, with its main operations in Munich and California. It designed single board computers and complete systems for equipment makers, building its name on VMEbus boards for Motorola processors before moving into SPARC, and later CompactPCI and AdvancedTCA platforms aimed at telecoms. Solectron bought the company in 1996 and sold it to Motorola in 2004, where it was merged into the new Embedded Communications Computing Group, a business Emerson Network Power acquired in 2008. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Force Computers hardware including SPARC based VME single board computers. Refurbished Force boards remain in demand because they sit at the heart of long-lived telecom, industrial and test systems whose software was written for that exact hardware.
