OE Solutions

OE Solutions is a South Korean maker of optical transceivers, founded in August 2003 and based in Gwangju. Its founders came from Lucent Technologies’ Bell Labs and from Samsung Electronics, and the company focused on optics for wireless backhaul, metro and local area networks, storage networks and passive optical networks. The range covers bi-directional single-fibre modules, industrial temperature transceivers and the Smart SFP line developed with Dutch software company AimValley, which builds service assurance functions into the module. Refurbished OE Solutions modules remain in demand because the company supplied optics to systems makers for mobile and access networks, and a replacement has to match the original wavelength pairing and temperature rating.
