Meru Networks

Meru Networks was founded in 2002 in Sunnyvale, California, and built enterprise wireless LAN equipment around an unusual idea: rather than giving each access point its own channel and letting client devices roam between them, Meru ran access points on a single shared channel and coordinated them centrally, so the network looked like one large access point to the client. That approach suited high density sites such as lecture halls, hospitals and conference venues where conventional channel planning struggled. Fortinet completed its acquisition of Meru Networks in July 2015 and folded the technology into its own wireless range. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Meru Networks hardware including access points and controller equipment. Refurbished Meru hardware remains in demand because a single-channel deployment is designed as a whole, so replacing one unit with a matching one avoids re-engineering the site.
