Keymile

Keymile was formed in 2002 from the merger of telecommunications businesses in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including Ascom Transmission. It inherited the UMUX multiservice access platform, originally launched by Ascom in 1991, and later developed the MileGate IP multiservice access node, which carries Ethernet and IP alongside traditional TDM, SDH and PDH services from a single network element. The mission critical communications business was sold to ABB in 2017 and the broadband business was acquired by DZS in 2019. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Keymile hardware including UMUX subscriber line interface cards and power supply units, and MileGate core units, media gateway modules and subscriber interface modules. Refurbished Keymile hardware is in demand for supporting UMUX and MileGate estates still carrying live services.
