STRATOS

Stratos began as the optical products division of Methode Electronics and was spun out as Stratos Lightwave in 2000, separating from Methode completely in 2001. It built the optical subsystems and components that convert electrical signals into light and back again, supplying transceivers, connectors and ruggedised optical assemblies for networking, storage and telecommunications, and later for military and aerospace use. Emerson Electric acquired the company, by then Stratos International, in 2007 and it became part of Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Stratos hardware including GBIC and Mini-GBIC transceiver modules and external AC to DC power supplies. Refurbished Stratos optics remain in demand because equipment of that generation accepts only modules it recognises, so a matching part is usually easier to fit than a newer substitute. Submit any Stratos part number via the enquiry form for current pricing, condition information and availability.
