Synology was founded in Taiwan in 2000 and builds network attached storage for business and home use, ranging from desktop units to rack-mount arrays with redundant power. Its rack-mount ranges support hot-swappable N+1 power supplies, so either supply can fail without taking the storage offline and the failed unit can be exchanged without downtime. Power supply modules are rated for specific rack-mount models rather than being interchangeable across the range.
