IMC Networks was founded in southern California in 1988 and became one of the better known names in copper to fibre media conversion, based for many years in Foothill Ranch. Its range covered media converters, fibre mode converters, distance extenders, repeaters, FTTx access equipment and the SFP modules that plug into them, supporting Ethernet, SONET, T1/E1 and DS3/E3 networks. B&B Electronics bought the business in July 2012, and B+B SmartWorx was in turn acquired by Advantech in January 2016, which continues the MiniMc and iMcV converter ranges under its own IMC model numbers. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished IMC Networks hardware including 10 Gigabit single-mode SFP+ transceivers. Refurbished IMC Networks transceivers remain in demand because installed media converters and switches are often set up around a specific optic, and a like for like replacement is the simplest fix when one fails. Submit any IMC Networks part number via the enquiry form for current pricing, condition information and availability.
