LifeSize

Lifesize was founded in Austin, Texas in 2003 and built the first high definition video conferencing systems, at a point when the established products were still standard definition. Its systems pair a codec unit with cameras, microphone pods and displays to turn a meeting room into a video endpoint, and the company later moved much of that capability into a cloud service while continuing to sell the room hardware it runs on. Logitech bought Lifesize in December 2009 and spun it out again as an independent company in 2016. Tech-Star supplies new and refurbished Lifesize hardware including room system codecs, cameras and accessories. Refurbished Lifesize hardware remains in demand because meeting rooms are fitted out as matched sets, so replacing a failed camera or codec with the same model avoids re-commissioning the room.
