Kathrein

Kathrein was founded in Rosenheim, Bavaria in 1919 and grew into one of the world’s leading antenna and filter manufacturers, supplying base station antenna systems to mobile operators worldwide. Ericsson acquired the antenna and filter business in October 2019, though a great deal of Kathrein-badged equipment remains installed across mobile networks. Kathrein’s site hardware covers the passive and control elements of the antenna feeder chain, including band combiners that let two frequency bands share a single feeder run, tower mounted amplifiers that improve uplink sensitivity, and Remote Electrical Tilt systems that adjust antenna downtilt from the ground rather than by climbing the mast.
