Newbridge Networks and Alcatel

MainStreet and MainStreet Xpress hardware started at Newbridge and continued under Alcatel numbering.

  • 2000: Alcatel acquired Newbridge Networks. The MainStreet Xpress 36170 was remarketed as the Alcatel 7470 MSP, and 90-prefix Newbridge part numbers continued under Alcatel.

From there the Alcatel line itself passed to Alcatel-Lucent in 2006 and Nokia in 2016. Tech-Star catalogues each part under its original badge: see ALCATEL.
